CHICKEN DRUMSTICK FRY

Tangy and mildly spicy chicken fry marinated using shallots and spices. This is easy to prepare and surely going to please your family.

INGREDIENTS:-

6 chicken drumsticks
7-8 shallots
4-5 garlic
1 inch ginger
1 green chili
1 tsp cumin seed
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
salt to taste

for dusting:-

1 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
salt to taste
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp fenugreek leaves

METHOD:-
  1. In a blender add the shallots, ginger, garlic, green chili, cumin seed to make a fine paste.
  2. Combine the chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, salt and shallot paste in a large bowl.
  3. Make 2 slit marks on the chicken legs, add them to the bowl and leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight if possible.
  4. Heat enough oil in a wok to deep fry the chicken.
  5. Place some flour, pepper powder, salt, fenugreek leaves on a shallow bowl and eggs in another bowl, then dip each piece of marinated chicken into the flour then the beaten egg and lower carefully into the hot oil. Cook over medium low heat for 10 min each side.Cook these drumsticks 2-3 at a time. you can even shallow fry the drumstick. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
