Gulab Jamun is a traditional Indian dessert which is liked by all. Mango is one of the most versatile fruit and can be added to a wide range of dishes. So here iam adding the king of fruits in Gulab jamun. The scent of the mangoes sure did the magic here. You don't need any occasion to enjoy this delicious mango gulab jamun!
INGREDIENTS:-
1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup mango purée
a Pinch of baking soda
a pinch of yellow food colour
1/2 tsp Mango essence
For sugar syrup:
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup mango juice ( store bought)
4 cardamom pods
1 tbsp almonds sliced
Oil for deep-frying
METHOD:-
- In a large pan, combine the water, mango juice, sugar, and ground cardamom seeds and bring to a boil. Let the syrup boil for another minute to completely dissolve the sugar. Turn offthe heat. Set the syrup aside.
- In a bowl, mix the milk powder, flour and baking soda. Add the butter and mix well. Add mango purée, mango essence and a pinch of yellow food colour to make soft dough. Divide the dough into equal parts and roll them into round balls. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the gulab jamuns and fry it on medium heat rolling them around for even browning until dark brown. Let the gulab jamuns cool a few minutes before placing into the hot syrup. Let the gulab jamuns sit in the syrup for at least half n hour before serving.
